Hi, I’m Valentina AKA The Valent, dancer and choreographer from Colombia. My love for dance
began in cultural and family events back home, where movement became a way to celebrate
community and tradition. Later, I trained in an academy focusing on Hip Hop and Latin styles,
while continuing to explore and grow as a self-taught dancer.

After moving to Portland, Oregon, I co-founded Mestizos Dance Group PDX in 2023, where I
served as a choreographer, dancer, performer, and leader, bringing multicultural dance
stories to life on stage. I’ve also choreographed for private events such as Quinceañeras,
blending authenticity, artistry, and celebration.
My passion is to share the vibrant traditions of Colombian Folklore with the world, creating a
space where movement connects us to culture, community, and joy.
