Valentina, also known as "The Valent Dancer," is a Colombian performer, choreographer, director, teaching artist, and cultural advocate whose work is rooted in culture, community, and connection. Her journey with dance began in Colombia, where family gatherings, traditional celebrations, and folkloric expressions shaped her understanding of movement as a powerful
language of identity, storytelling, and belonging. She later expanded her training in Hip Hop and
Latin dance styles while continuing to develop as a self-taught artist dedicated to lifelong learning.

After moving to Portland, Oregon, Valentina co-founded Mestizos Dance Group PDX in 2023, serving as choreographer, performer, and artistic leader. Through the organization, she has created performances that celebrate Latin American cultures while building meaningful connections across diverse communities. She has also choreographed for private events,
including Quinceañeras, and collaborated with community organizations and cultural festivals. Now based in Seattle, Washington, Valentina continues to expand her artistic vision as the Founder and Director of Mestizos Dance Group Seattle, bringing Colombian culture to new audiences through performances, community engagement, and educational programming. She currently teaches dance classes throughout the Seattle area, specializing in traditional Colombian dance, folkloric movement, and Latin dance styles. Her classes provide not only technical instruction but also cultural context, history, and appreciation for the traditions behind each dance.
